Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for yet another year of your continued support and encouragement of Autism Cymru and WOW!!! - what a year it has been! 2008 commenced in glorious style with Autism Cymru’s Chief Executive, Hugh Morgan, being honoured with an OBE for his services to people with autism.
It saw a hugely successful 3rd International Autism Conference in Wales and at it the launch of the World's First Government-led Strategy for Autism.
It has also seen the publication of bi-lingual information booklets for parents and practitioners covering a range of issues including ‘Oh No!! Not Big School’ and ‘Learning to Play, Playing to Learn’ and yet another successful General Teaching Council for Wales - Celebrating Best Practice in Education of Pupils with ASD, Conference to name just a brief few of our 2008 proud achievements.
2008 has also been a year for people coming and people going – Hugh Morgan OBE’s secondment to the Welsh Assembly Government as Implentation Manager of the ASD Strategic Action plan and the stepping down of our much loved and respected Chair of Autism Cymru – Ivor Lightman CB, but as one door closes others will open and they did. 2008 saw us welcome on board two new Trustees - Jonathon Morgan AM and Wendy Keay-Bright. Jemima Philips (noted Welsh Royal Harpist) joined us as Patron and Professor Bill Frasier was appointed as Autism Cymru’s new Chairperson!
So here's to an exciting and vibrant 2009 and pushing even further forwards the autism agenda in Wales.
Festive Greetings from us all at Autism Cymru – Wales’ National Charity for Autism. |
