Hi Sarah, Thank you for your response to my message, I was very surprised to receive a reply as it has been some years since this message was posted. As it happens I am looking for a tutor at the moment, one of my tutors is leaving at the end of August, so I would be looking for someone to start some time in June. My son Nathan is now 8 years old and spends 4 half days and 1 full day at his local main stream primary school, with 4 afternoons spent on aba at home. He has progressed well during his time on aba, he is in a class below his age group and is due to move over to the junior school in September. The two days available are Monday and Thursday but if you are interested I could look at the possibility of asking if my other tutor could change her days.

Hi, Are you still looking for ABA work?
My 2 and a half year old son Ethan, has just been assessed by a psychiatrist as having Aspergers Syndrome. UKYAP (http://www.ukyap.org/) is helping me set up a workshop for my son, and I am looking for tutors to carry out the programme. He is in nursery at present 4 days a week, therefore the training will be split between nursery and home.
While Ethan is incredibly sociable with his parents, we need to encourage him to generalise this behaviour to others. He does have friends at nursery, however they have found he prefers to play alone a lot of the time, as opposed to the set activities that they have in place.
He is very cheeky, lively, funny and playful. Loves dancing and playing chase. He is somewhat obssessional over Thomas the Tank Engine and a lot of his language, which is very good is repeating scenes from the programme, or talking about trains, planes or cars.
Salary is dependant on experience, although I would like to know your salary expectations.
We live in Hertfordshire, within the M25, so very accessible to trains, and about 30 mins to Kings Cross, London.

Our son's ABA/Verbal Behaviour program is being supervised and training is being provided by a well renowned U.K. Center, C.E.I.E.C.. Hi Maria,
I'm an ABA therapist not a parent so I don't know the cost I'm afraid. I have heard it costs roughly around £30,000 a year if you employ people full time. This may be wrong, so please don't take my word for it. The bulk of the cost (aside from employing tutors) is paying for consultants (who design the curriculum for your child) and materials for the programmes. On top of that are the dietary changes you may need to make for your son.

Hello Maria,
A home-based progarm typically start between 10-15 hours a week then extend to up to 30 hours a week. I'm not sure where you reside; however, an ABA therapist can range from US $12-25 in the US and Canada, depending on the therapist's experience.
You will also need to find a behavioral analyst to supervise your ABA program who may also act as the behavior consultant to revise any changes to your programs, conduct functional behavior assessments (FBA) and more. Verbal Behavior (VB) is one of the more popular ABA methods currently treating children diagnosed with Autism.
I currently supervise a couple families overseas, providing parent trainings and consultations. If you need any help or if you know any families that need help in your area, I will be more than happy to set up parent training sessions, behavioral consultations and program supervision for your child. It would be helpful to do group parent trainings because it gives each parent ideas and support from other families.

p.s My advert, placed in Gumtree reads:
Joe is 7yrs old and has severe learning difficulties and autism.
He goes to an SLD school but we have just started a VB program to run alongside this. He is non verbal though has a few Makaton signs and does attempt approximations.
We have one full time tutor (employed by school as an LSA, though often works from home), however we would like to increase his hours and are looking for an additional one/two tutors to provide up to an additional 15hrs/week.
We have flexibility in the timetable, though if you were willing to consider one of the sessions to be over a w/e that would be ideal.
We live an 8-10 min walk from Twickenham station, which is less than half an hour from London Waterloo and only 5 mins from Richmond underground.
Sessions times:8:15/30 - 11:30/12 or 1/2pm - 5pm.
Some experience essential.

We are a Canadian family residing in Kuwait with a 6 year old son who has PDD-NOS. We require an ABA Therapist/Shadow Aide and an ABA Therapist to join our team. Our son's ABA/Verbal Behaviour program is being supervised and training is being provided by a well renowned U.K. Center, C.E.I.E.C.. He has been on this program for the last 3 1/2 years and has seen progress. Emphasis will be placed on one-on-one therapy to develop verbal skills; although therapy will also be required to develop other skills such as imitation skills, play skills, social skills, self-help skills, fine motor skills and gross motor skills. Data recording and attending team meetings will also be required. This is wonderful opportunity to travel and help a child at the same time. Hi, Are you still looking for ABA work?
My 2 and a half year old son Ethan, has just been assessed by a psychiatrist as having Aspergers Syndrome. UKYAP (http://www.ukyap.org/) is helping me set up a workshop for my son, and I am looking for tutors to carry out the programme. He is in nursery at present 4 days a week, therefore the training will be split between nursery and home.
While Ethan is incredibly sociable with his parents, we need to encourage him to generalise this behaviour to others. He does have friends at nursery, however they have found he prefers to play alone a lot of the time, as opposed to the set activities that they have in place.
He is very cheeky, lively, funny and playful. Loves dancing and playing chase. He is somewhat obssessional over Thomas the Tank Engine and a lot of his language, which is very good is repeating scenes from the programme, or talking about trains, planes or cars.
Salary is dependant on experience, although I would like to know your salary expectations.
We live in Hertfordshire, within the M25, so very accessible to trains, and about 30 mins to Kings Cross, London.
